This image is inspired by the pioneering rewilding project on the Knepp Estate in Sussex. Since the project began Knepp has seen extraordinary increases in wildlife and it’s a place where nature has regained a foothold – with Jays and Oak trees playing an integral part of the wilding process, where the ethos is to enable natural processes instead of aiming for any particular goals or outcomes.
Isabella Tree, co-owner of the Knepp Estate with her husband Charlie, has written several wonderful and fascinating books on the subject, and this incredible journey they’ve undertaken is chronicled in the best-selling book 'Wilding'.
