Richard Walters The Solent Project X Angela Harding
I’m delighted to share Songs from the Solent, a new album by songwriter Richard Walters, created as part of the Solent Seascape Project’s Artist Residency. The eight original songs are inspired by places around the Solent, shaped by local voices, wildlife, and the sounds of the coast.
For the project I created an illustrated map, linking each track to the landscape that inspired it. The map invites listeners to explore the Solent visually as well as through music, connecting sound, place, and story.
Songs from the Solent celebrates our shared coastal environment and highlights the importance of caring for these special places. The album is available to stream and download, with proceeds supporting the conservation work of the Solent Seascape Project.
